This project was very important to me because my topic is something I am very passionate about. I researched the trends between women joining the medical field and the implementation of right-limiting policies for reproductive health. I feel very strongly that every person should have access to the healthcare they deserve. Women should not have to fight to have a say in what body parts they can or cannot have rights to. To effectively communicate my research, as well as my feelings, I created an infographic poster and wrote a poem.

I made an infographic poster to communicate my research in an organized fashion. This infographic includes 6 categories: right-limiting policies, the importance of accessible care, women in medical school, women in the field, specialties, and the future. The right limiting policies section discusses certain events that have taken place to limit a women's right to abortion and restrict access to birth control, pelvic exams, and cancer screenings that may have been available within the same clinics where abortions were performed. Then, I go on to discuss why it is important to have access to reproductive healthcare, as it is about more than just controlling pregnancy. I discuss the increasing trends of women applying for and attending medical school as well as the trends of women within the profession. Certain specialties within the field that are catered toward women are discussed and reveal that many women join the field to be able to help other women. Lastly, I discuss what I think the future holds for women within healthcare.

The poem that I wrote is my way of emotionally communicating with the reader. As a woman, it is hard to grow up seeing that people have made policies and laws controlling my body, and I did not even get a say in making them. It is a harsh reality that men are in positions of power that develop many of these policies. This poem discusses my feelings, as well as the feelings of other women, and shows the determination and drive that it takes to make a real change. Women have been fighting for equality and rights for so long, and the determination and drive have been what has fostered real progress. We will continue to fight for the rights they deserve; not only for us, but for our future daughters.
