Artist's Statement:

For my portfolio project, I researched how ethical frameworks are used in healthcare ethics, more specifically, patient autonomy and informed consent. Through research, I have found that not only were all of the ethical frameworks present in different problems regarding healthcare ethics, but also in real case study examples that are common in most, if not all healthcare settings. These ethical frameworks became a backbone in our foundational ethical knowledge and the rest of our learning branched out from there. It is the simplest yet most important step in identifying the origins and reasoning for ethical dilemmas.

I decided to make an infographic to display my research results and case studies from my own experience working in the ER all in one place. I believed it would be the easiest way to get my formal research, informal personal experience, and statistics to all be organized together in a way that made sense.
