Can you name an issue that is currently happening in your community? For my final project in theology I wanted to explore the little awareness teens in highschool have based on social issues, whether it in the community or bigger political issues. I began this project with creating a google form that had basic questions about their personal life surrounding if they are away of politics along with questions about if they have and understanding on certain issue and if they are aware if these issues are present in their community and i ask how good is their school with making community or world wide issues known. I gathered my little sisters' friends in which they range from ages 16 to 18. I gathered 10 responses from them. Based on their response it averaged where the students are somewhat aware of social issues but their teachers do not indulge in them enough to where all they know is surface level knowledge of these issues. Another thing that stood out to me when reading the results of this form is the students would be more engaged if real world issues are mentioned and talked about in class rather than focusing on history material.

Using this information that I received from my google form I came to the conclusion to create a brochure for these students and others. Creating a brochure as my creative project I wanted it to be a beginner guide on how to get informed and involved. I remember as a highschool student I did not care for politics and avoided it but I want this to come off a bit differently than all about politics. Since I want it to be a beginners guide on getting informed I formatted this brochure to start as simple ways of knowing what is happening in your community and the more you read the more involved you can become depending on how much you are willing to know. I also included at the end of my brochure some social media hashtags and podcasts that can be useful to become informed.
