Queer Third Spaces: A Sacred Space
The format for my project is a series of photographs of queer third spaces. Photography will demonstrate my research because the answer to my research question is very subjective, visual, and qualitative, and that is exactly what a photo conveys. I am choosing this format because I have a passion for photography. I love to pay closer attention to the world through the viewfinder in my camera. I have experience with composing meaningful serieses of photos and I think that that skill can apply very well to the meaning of my project. This connects to what we have covered in class because queer third spaces function as a sort of religion. In class, we have learned about so many aspects of how religion and queerness interact. Queer third spaces function in similar ways. This idea will help my project extend beyond the confines of this classroom because it can help bring attention to little details of life that bring queer representation to everyday life.
